A Beginner's Guide To Adding Cheese To Bread

Blog

If you would like to give your party something that they are almost guaranteed to fall in love with, why not bake some cheese into a loaf of bread. Tearing off a piece of a cheesy loaf will make the whole experience much more savory. The bread can be used as an appetizer or a side dish. It pairs very well with a bowl of soup. The bread can be placed in the center of the table with everyone tearing a piece whenever they so desire.

Choosing The Right Type Of Bread And Shape

Make sure to pick an artisan bread that has a crunchy crust and that has holes in it. Any shape will work, but placing a large, round loaf of bread onto the table can be more exciting. Another option is to make a cheesy bread baguette.

Cutting The Bread And Adding Cheese

You will need to slice the bread option in order to add the cheese. Make sure to keep the loaf intact so that the bread does not fall apart, so do not cut the bread all the way to the bottom.

Choosing The Right Cheese

The great thing about baking cheese into bread is that there are so many cheeses to choose from. Therefore, you can make this bread several times over and have each bread be unique. Make sure that at least one of the cheeses used is a gooey cheese like mozzarella.

Baking Cheese Into The Dough

Rather than adding cheese to bread that has already been baked, another option is to add cheese to the dough before you bake it. The best option in this case is to combine Parmesan, provolone and Asiago into one. The bread will have a delicious, strong cheese aroma. When cut, there will be pockets of cheese inside. The bread can be eaten by itself or used to make a sandwich. If you would like to spice things up, add something hot, such as chipotles, to the bread to make it sizzle.

Hiring A Bakery For The Job

If you would not like to actually bake the bread itself, but simply bake cheese into the bread, contact a bakery. You will have a broader variety of breads to choose from and the breads will taste better because they are baked fresh. You may also be able to request that they bake cheese into the bread for you.
